List of suggestions for Restaurant Explorers from Members
- For 2008 and onwards, this is what our list of Restaurants suggestions look like.
COSMIC CAFE 1110 West Lynn St (was West Lynn Cafe) - Sallie & Victoria. Out of Business - will watch to see what replaces it.
Pharoahs (was Pyramids) - Jerry Knowles. Currently closed for refurbishment.
- If you have a fine and choosy palate and you like Chinese food : There are only four truly authentic and truly good chinese restaurants in Austin ( Marco Polo, T& S Seafood, Tien-Hong and Din-Ho chinese BBQ ).
- Marco Polo is a best kept secret among the chinese cuisine's connaisseur ! ( Although we have seen increasingly numerous westerners who have frequented this famous spot ) . Many Asian, and Asian food connaisseurs from other remote areas, including Houston have visited Austin, just to have Dim-Sum there ! They are so popular, they do not need much advertisement.
- We are among the lucky Austinites who could easily get there on a short drive. We go there frequently for their delicious Chinese brunch ( Dim Sum ). Expect a long line if you come at peak hour ( 12pm - 1pm ). Dim Sum start at 11:00 am and being served until 2:00pm. Not only it is worth any wait, it is light on your pocket $$. Marco Polo locates ( odly ) next door to the Clarion Inn & Suites on westside of IH-35 and Oltorf. - Alice & Phil
- Marco Polo - March
- Din-Ho - October
Dominic's Pizza in Cedar Park - Mike and Annette. Although it is out of the way for our normal RE, it is worth it and might be able to get the whole restaurant to ourselves. April
