Monthly Events

Austin NOKIDDING! sponsors several regular social activities a month with occasional special events.  We talk about careers, studies, travels, interests, and just about anything else... but rarely, if ever, about children.  It's not a taboo topic; it's simply not our focus.  Check out our monthly Calendar for a list of our regular events.  We are always open to suggestions for other activities.  If you have an idea for a special event, join our Enthusiasts list or talk to one of our regular members. 

Additionally, we welcome your suggestions for new movies, restaurants, bars, and books for our current ongoing events.

Monthly Supper at Threadgill's World Headquarters

Our Monthly Supper is always well attended and is an ideal event for new members to come and meet us for the first time.

How can we eat at the same place so often?  A wide menu caters to every taste; you're sure to find something you like.  Chicken-fried steak, huge burgers, a five-vegetable plate, great service and a big table set in the back make this one of our most popular events. 

Threadgill's World Headquarters is located at 301 W. Riverside (at Barton Springs Rd).  Their phone number is 472-9304.  The restaurant is centrally located and fun, with great (and affordable) food. 

Plan to arrive by 5:45pm so we can be seated as a group (they will not let us make group reservations ahead of time as we never know how many folks to expect).  We'll be in the indoor waiting area until we are seated at 6:00pm.  If you arrive after 6:00pm, just ask the host for the NOKIDDING! group or look for our sign, which is always posted on our table.

Games Night - Upstairs at Central Market.

First Wednesday of each month from 7:00pm to 9:00pm

The idea behind Games Night is for Austin NOKIDDING! to get together for a fun variety of board games, dominoes, card games, word games, etc.  Each month those attending should bring their favorite two or three games, and everyone will decide what game or games sound like fun.  Please, no computer games.

We meet upstairs at Central Market, located in the heart of Austin at 40th and North Lamar, between I-35 and the North Mo-Pac Expressway.

• From IH-35:
  Exit 38th St. Go west on 38th St. past Guadalupe to the stop light at Lamar.  Turn right onto Lamar Blvd.  Go one block to the stoplight at 40th St. and turn right into Central Park.  The store is directly ahead.
• From Mopac:
  Exit 35th St. Go east on 35th St. and stay left on 35th St. cutoff where 35th St. becomes 38th.  Go east on 38th St. to the traffic light at Lamar Blvd.  Turn left (north) onto Lamar.  Go to the stoplight at 40th St. and turn right into Central Park.

Feel free to pick up something to eat from the downstairs cafe before joining us upstairs for some fun games.

Cinema Club

First Sunday afternoon of each month Check our calendar for the next date.

Join us for Cinema Club to catch those must see movies in the theater. Many of the blockbuster movies have stunning special or sound effects that are best appreciated in the cinema.

Cinema Club is on Sunday afternoon, no fixed time or location. A selection is decided upon and those interested vote on the final Movie. We discuss what part of town we'd like to see the movie in and try and determine the best location - maybe the big Stadium seating of the Gateway or Barton Creek, or perhaps we'll want to see a movie on the digital projectors at Highland Cinema!

The movie and location is finalized the Thursday before and the calendar is updated.

So why not join your friends from NOKIDDING, join in the fun and see if we can go opening weekend.

Party Games

Join ANK! for Party Games Night - Held at varied members' households.

The idea behind Party Games Night is for NO KIDDERS! is to gather together in the comfort of a member's home and enjoy playing some social games such as Charades, Pictionary, Apples to Apples, Scene It, etc. Leave your inhibitions at the door!

Each month those attending should bring their favorite party game, and everyone will decide what game or games sound like fun.
